Stars of the week

Johri Fogerson , O’Dea football

Forgerson, a senior running back, racked up 212 yards on only 18 carries and scored three touchdowns as the unbeaten Irish rolled past Auburn 35-3 in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs. His 45-yard touchdown burst in the opening quarter set the tone.

Brianne Lindblad , Kennedy girls swimming

Lindblad, a senior, capped a sensational prep career by factoring in four victories to help the Lancers win the state team title. She became only the ninth girl in state history to sweep an event for four years when she took the 100-yard backstroke in 56:94 seconds. Lindblad won her second straight 100 free title and swam on two winning relays.
